This is a kit that requires soldering. All parts required to build a functioning controller card are included. The kit even includes the solder! You supply additional parts such as power cords and enclosure. There are 15 controllers and one back up controller for Christmas 2011. The first one took 7 hours to complete. Now I can get these done less then 2 hours. You can purchase them from Light-O-Rama
After completing the pc kit. I then work on putting them into a cable box. To save costs I purchase from Menards regular 6' extension cords for 77 cents, cut the plugs off and spade them to the control board. When the board is complete we paint all the boxes black.
This is the software that controls all the lights. Each channel has to be sequenced. One channel controls a set of lights. Each window on our house has 4 channels controlling each color(RED,GREEN,BLUE CLEAR). In 2009 Christmas display had 128 channels. This year we will have 224 channels and 12 CCR color ribbons that can be changed to over 2 milion colors. It takes about 40 hours of work to finish one song. Some of us around the country share parts of songs and help each other. This is why we dont change all the songs year to year. It would be a full time job if we did.
